Privacy Policy

venus is local-first and ships without telemetry. Here is exactly what that means.

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Overview

venus is designed to be local-first. The app runs on your machine, and your work stays on your machine. venus ships with no usage analytics and no telemetry — we do not track how you use the app. This policy describes the limited information involved in licensing and payments, and how the marketing website behaves.

Data stored on your device

Your hosts, settings, snippets, and workspaces are stored locally on your computer. SSH passwords and key passphrases are kept in the macOS Keychain or in an encrypted vault (Argon2id + XChaCha20-Poly1305). This data is never sent to us. Terminal output, keystrokes, and files you transfer over SSH/SFTP stay on your device and the servers you connect to — they never pass through our systems.

Information the licensing service processes

To unlock and keep Pro active, the licensing service processes only what is needed to issue and validate a license. This may include a license token and a machine identifier used to activate and re-validate your subscription on your device. A signed license is verified on-device and works offline, with periodic online re-validation for active subscriptions. No terminal content, keystrokes, or transferred files are involved in this process.

Payments

Subscription payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Your billing details are provided directly to that processor, which handles the transaction. We do not store your card numbers. The processor handles your payment information under its own privacy terms.

Website

The venus marketing website does not collect analytics or set cookies beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the site. If this ever changes, we will disclose it here and update the date above.

Your choices and contact

Because your venus data lives on your device, you remain in control of it — you can view, export, and delete it locally. For questions about this policy or a request related to your license or payment, email us at info@tensordata.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of venus after an update means you accept the revised policy.
