How does the 7-day free Pro trial work?
Every new install unlocks all Pro features for 7 days — no credit card and no account required. When the trial ends, venus keeps working as the Free tier (local terminal + basic SSH). Upgrade any time to keep Pro; the countdown is shown in the title-bar badge.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS today (Apple Silicon & Intel, macOS 12+). Windows and Linux are coming soon — the core is cross-platform and in verification. Mobile (iOS/Android) is planned later as an SSH- and SFTP-focused companion, since phones can't run local shells the way a desktop can.
Where is my data stored? Is it private?
venus is local-first. Your hosts, settings, snippets, and workspaces stay on your machine. SSH passwords and key passphrases are kept in the macOS Keychain or your encrypted vault (Argon2id + XChaCha20-Poly1305). Terminal output and transferred files never touch our servers, and venus ships without usage analytics or telemetry.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No account is needed to download and use venus or to start the trial. A signed license works offline; venus may occasionally check with the licensing server to confirm an active Pro subscription.
How is licensing enforced?
Pro is unlocked by a cryptographically signed license issued to you. It's verified on your device, so it keeps working offline, with periodic online re-validation for active subscriptions.
What's your refund policy?
Because there's a full 7-day free trial before any charge, we ask you to evaluate venus during the trial. Refund terms will be finalized at launch — reach out to info@tensordata.com and we'll help.
Can I move my setup between machines?
Yes — Pro includes config export/import so you can carry your hosts, settings, and snippets to another machine. (Secrets are re-entered on the new device for safety.)
Is venus open source?
No. venus is a proprietary, closed-source product of Tensordata Global Private Limited. Its source code is private and not publicly distributed.
